Night and the City
Night and the City is a 1950 film noir directed by Jules Dassin and starring Richard Widmark, Gene Tierney and Googie Withers.[1] It is based on the novel of the same name by Gerald Kersh. Shot on location in London and at Shepperton Studios, the plot revolves around an ambitious hustler whose plans keep going wrong.

The establishing shot of this picture is medium shot.The man is setting in the city which can see many buildings and cars behind him.Black and white give audiences a sense of the narrative time of this film was happening in the old century.We can see some feelings from the man's eyes, might indicated he was scaring with something and looking somewhere or finding someone.The wise-en-scene shows his clothes which quiet typical character in Film Noir.His suit represents his identity and could be an office worker.
